The Advanced Tour is a unique opportunity to go off the beaten path and discover rare behind the scene artefacts, starting with the amazing department of the arts of Africa, Asia, Oceania and the Americas (which only opened in 2000).
I will then lead you to the upstairs gallery which presents Spanish and English paintings.
Be aware ! While these masters are undoubltly underrepresented in the museum, this section displays perhaps some of the best artworks by Goya or the English Masters. Channelling along the Grande Galerie will enables us to contrast these works with the overrepresented Italians.
Pursuing our visit with the Egyptian Collections, we shall discover the new setting designed by the architect of the pyramid, I.M. Pei. Finally, we will focus on the remodelled Richelieu wing / Islamic Arts, which recently re-opened after a decade of no show.
Should you have any special requests, please advise prior to the tour. I would be delighted to address any specific artefacts you would like to explore. Thank you.
